

L.A. 7 Shades of Emotions Inc. is a 501 c (3) Approved Nonprofit Organization dedicated to uplifting the unhoused, unheard, and unknown through creative arts, emotional healing and faith-inspired community outreach. Our programs combine art as healing, and faith-inspired community outreach. Our program combines art, spiritual empowerment, and food assistance to restore hope, dignity, and connection throughout Detroit and beyond. Our program represents Faith Through Art and Nourish the Emotions; we create safe and inclusive spaces where individuals can express their emotions, share their stories and rebuild their lives, through art, faith, and nourishment.
We exist to retore hope, dignity, and purpose-one shade of emotions at a time and one story at a time.

Offers a welcoming, judgement-free space where homeless school age youth who may be living in a shelter can freely explore painting and drawing on canvas- no formal classes required, just a chance to create, unwind, and express themselves through art.

Creates opportunities for participants to share their work through community art shows, performances, or gallery events—amplifying their voices and building pride.
Provides welcoming, judgment-free environments where participants can express themselves, process trauma, and feel a sense of belonging and stability.

Professional artists are welcome to join our creative sessions for just $25 per session. For those looking to engage more regularly, our Artist Membership provides unlimited monthly participation for $60/month, supporting our mission while fostering a vibrant artistic community.
Artists can become a member to the program and drop in any class at any time for $60/month. Want to try a class out first? Drop ins are available to artists for $25 per class

Volunteers are the heart of our mission. Whether you assist with classes, prep materials, or simply show up with a smile, your time helps us create a welcoming space where art and community thrive.

Yes, registration is required. To ensure a quality experience and adequate supplies, all sessions must
have a minimum of 4 registered participants. Signing up in advance helps us prepare the space and
maintain a safe, welcoming environment for everyone involved.
We offer painting and drawing —designed to be expressive, therapeutic, and fun.
All art supplies, materials, and participation are completely free for those experiencing homelessness.
Artist professionals are required to pay a participation fee.
Our spaces are supervised by trained volunteers and staff who are committed to providing a safe,
respectful, and inclusive environment for adults only. Please note that children are not permitted in order
to maintain the focus and comfort of our adult participants.
